Algorithm for classifying patents according to technological significance

Although there are more than 120 million patents worldwide, relatively few contribute to actual technological progress. Focus has therefore developed an algorithm that ranks patents within a portfolio automatically based on their importance. This enables users of the algorithm to identify key technological developments and to manage and clean up their patent portfolio accordingly.
